At the corner of a street stands an old but mighty tree, watching people as they walk by, as they sit on the bench under it, as they chit-chat, every day and every night since several years, and for several years to come, never asleep, always wakeful, observing them, remembering them, to never forget. This website is dedicated to that Wakeful Tree.

Born in 1983, Living in Mumbai. Since Krunal was a kid, he loved capturing images on his camera, but only realized his passion for photography when he bought his first digital camera (a compact Kodak). In the beginning he was just like any other photography enthusiast capturing landscapes and flowers. Later he upgraded to a DSLR (Canon 1000D), and still there were only occasional street shots. But slowly and gradually he started loving these streets, the same streets where he grew up, where he used to stand at the alley-corners chit-chatting with friends, watching strangers as they passed by, noticing that each had a distinct personality. He observed that even though a thoughtless one, each and every stranger had a perspective, a notion about every other stranger around them. He realised that as a street photographer all he had to do was to record his perspective towards these strangers with his camera.

In a nutshell, to become a street photographer Krunal just had to be a stranger amongst strangers.

His current gear includes a Canon EOS 3000N, Yashica Electro 35 GSN, Vivitar 35 EE, Lomo LC A+ and a Toy Camera
